Band is held
for 40 minutes a day for the entire year.
Some students attend everyday, other students only 1 or 2 days in a
six day cycle.
The final goal for all instrumental players is the following:
-
To play
expressively with appropriate dynamics, interpretation, timbre,
posture, breath control, tone quality, technical accuracy, on pitch,
and in rhythm to a varied repertoire of instrumental literature with
difficulty of 1 to 6 (depending on individual progress).
-
They must
also learn how to play as a group and to listen to each other.
This goal is taught through many aspects of playing, performing and
reading music.
