The purpose of the Mathletes club is to provide students with the opportunity to learn more about Math, Math applications, careers in the Math field and to have fun with Math outside the classroom. Through membership and active participation within the club students will: Be able to apply Mathematical concepts learned in the classroom to real world events. Compete in Math League and MathCounts Competitions on the local, regional and national levels. Develop an understanding and fondness of Math.

Pi Day		6^th – 8^th Grade students field trip to UVM
March 14, 2006 – the discovery of Pi, irrational numbers and fractions		FES grant funded – the students had an opportunity to speak with a professor regarding careers and the importance of math
9^th – 12^th Grade Mathletes field trip to Middlebury College with Westport		Game Night
FES grant funded – the students had an opportunity to meet math majors and speak with a professor		May 8, 2006 - open to the community
