Executive Session
Motion by Craig Jackson, seconded by Scott Sayward, voted and carried (4-0) to enter into executive session at 6:00pm to discuss personnel and negotiations.

Motion by Craig Jackson, seconded by Scott Sayward, voted and carried (4-0) to end executive session at 6:44pm.

Meeting was called to order at 6:47pm, by Andrea Robare .

Approval of Minutes
Motion by Bruce Hale, seconded by Scott Sayward, voted and carried (4-0) to approve the minutes from the 12-11-07 regular meeting.

The board received a presentation by Chris Ford regarding Data Warehouse and the responsibilities of the Chief Information Officer.

Business & Finance
Motion by Craig Jackson, seconded by Scott Sayward, voted and carried (4-0) to approve the extra curricular report dated 12-27-07.

Motion by Craig Jackson, seconded by Bruce Hale, voted and carried (4-0) to approve the internal auditor’s report dated 12-21-07.

New Business
Motion by Scott Sayward, seconded by Bruce Hale, voted and carried (4-0) to enter into a partnership agreement between Adirondack Community Action Program and Willsboro School  for an after school program for the 2007-08 year.

Motion by Bruce Hale, seconded by Craig Jackson, voted and carried (4-0) to approve the superintendent’s attendance at the Mid-Winter  Superintendent’s Conference in Albany on January 13th – 15th, 2008, and also the annual regional Superintendent’s meeting held in Lake Placid on December 6th and 7th, 2007.

Motion by Craig Jackson, seconded by Scott Sayward, voted and carried (4-0) to approve maintaining the current aged exemption allowance of $15,000 for the district.

Motion by Bruce Hale, seconded by Scott Sayward, voted and carried (4-0) to approve of the disposal and removal of the following items that have no value from inventory:

Personnel - Consent Agenda
Motion by Craig Jackson, seconded by Bruce Hale, voted and carried (4-0) to approve the emergency conditional appointment of Eric McCauliffe as a substitute teacher.

Motion by Craig Jackson, seconded by Bruce Hale, voted and carried (4-0) to approve the emergency conditional appointment of Lori Crandall as a substitute monitor, cleaner, and cafeteria worker.

Motion by Scott Sayward, seconded by Craig Jackson, voted and carried (4-0) to approve the request for unpaid leave from Don Yetman from February 25th – March 14th, 2008.

Motion by Craig Jackson, seconded by Bruce Hale, voted and carried (4-0) to accept the letter of retirement from Rhonda Belzile effective June 30, 2008.

Motion by Craig Jackson, seconded by Scott Sayward, voted and carried (4-0) to accept the first reading of the following policies:

b)  Programs For Students With Disabilities Under The Idea And New York’s Education Law Article 89

c)  Provision Of Special Education Services In the Least Restrictive Environment

d)  School-Wide Pre-Referral Approaches And Interventions

e)  Allocation Of Space For Special Education Programs

f)  Independent Educational Evaluations

g)  Confidentiality And Access to Individualized Education Programs, Individualized Education Services Programs And Service Plans

h)  Availability Of Alternative Format Instructional Materials For Students With Disabilities

Superintendent’s Report

  • The Home & Careers class and the BOCES class will be starting their recycling program next week.  They are going to be recycling computer paper.
  • Peter Schultz the inventor of fiber optics gave a presentation to our 9th – 12th graders.
  • Willsboro Central School and the Smith House will be holding a “Parenting Wisely” workshop here at the school.
  • We ordered and received letters and pins to be presented to the Drama Club members.
  • The Wall of Recognition nominees have been chosen for this year, Doris Blanchard and Keith Coonrod.
